Service Design

The Scottish Government provide an introduction to Service Design here, a component part of their overall Digital First Standards.

The Scottish Government defines ‘SAtSD‘, the Scottish Approach to Service Design, explaining the method on their blog, which has a vision that the people of Scotland are supported and empowered to actively participate in the definition, design and delivery of their public services (from policy making to live service improvement).

Service Deisgn must encompass all variables within the user experience, for example Designing for Irrational Users, and fully understanding how best to integrate technologies like self-service chatbots et al. For example the Dept of Transport shares an ongoing blog series on their use of the practices to develop their digital services.
