Careers in Computer Science is a new series we’re starting to showcase the many different career pathways for Computer Science graduates and the local companies who hire them.

2i is an Edinburgh-based software testing firm, expanding rapidly following successful contract wins like the Scottish Government.

As they describe in their Meet the Team blog, Katarzyna Kmiotek joined the team in September 2020. Having worked in hospitality for over ten years she had always been keen to explore an entirely new career.

She undertook many evening classes at Glasgow University, and then having been introduced to CodeClan and completed their software development course, saw the opportunity to move into an exciting technology role, even though she had no previous experience.

Katarzyna was attracted to 2i by the broad range of modern technologies they work with, and that as a consultant she would be working across a stimulating mix of different client engagements.
