Kenneth’s expertise is in destination development and leadership, branding and promotion, economic & tourism strategy and regeneration, cultural tourism, and festival and events operations. Currently Kenneth is Managing Director of his own economic and tourism consultancy business, and delivery of the innovative and award winning Scottish Tourism Industry Destination Leaders Programme (DLP) which has an alumni of over 100 ‘Destination Leaders’.
He is also a Visiting Research Fellow at Edinburgh Napier University, and delivers executive training and lectures in tourism internationally. Previously as Chief Executive of Edinburgh’s destination promotion body – Destination Edinburgh, he led the ‘place marketing’ of the Capital globally. While as Head of Economic Development with Edinburgh Council, he was responsible for Economic and Tourism Development Strategy and the Council’s investment in and management of Edinburgh’s Winter Festivals, the Edinburgh International Science Festival, and other major events. He was also a founding director of the Edinburgh Convention Bureau Ltd.
